Chapter Three : THE LAND OF MILK AND HONEY
1980 - 1990

Thatcher England will be explored during this period. The pre-conceived notions of England the interviewees had will be juxtaposed with the racial injustices that were commencing in London. This section will also explore the new life Ghanaian migrants carved for themselves during this time. VHS footage of house parties will be seen alongside re-created telephone conversations calling ‘back home’ and working menial jobs will be shot handheld. Archive footage and news reports covering various riots that happened in the 1980s and how they were reported will be included. This section will also touch upon accounts of deportation.
